UK urges for ceasefire in conflicted areas to allow covid-19 vaccination

The United Kingdom called for a new Security Council resolution to temporarily cease fire in all conflict areas and coordinate efforts to distribute COVID-19 vaccines .British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab chaired a hypothetical meeting of the Security Council, where the proposal was presented, and he also urged members to work together and agree on a resolution on negotiating a ceasefire to allow vaccination, and to support the fair distribution of the vaccine so that those exposed to infection can be protected from the effects of the virus …Raab said: Today, there are more than 160 million people who are at risk of being deprived of vaccination against the Corona virus due to the unrest and conflicts in various regions, including Yemen, South Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia. He also stressed that overcoming all these challenges requires greater national, regional and international cooperation, and that the United Nations should play a key role in coordinating for the sake of combining these efforts
