Transplanting a pig’s heart into a human body, succeeded

In the first operation of its kind, American surgeons succeeded in transplanting a genetically modified pig’s heart into a human body.
Maryland University announced that the surgery proved, that an animal’s heart can survive in a human body without immediate rejection.
Three months ago, US surgeons succeeded for the first time, in transplanting a pig’s kidney into a human body, without the immune system rejecting the transplanted organ.
