In this report, we will show the average age of candidates to the parliamentary elections and how they are distributed over the electoral districts. The number of male candidates reached 888 compared to 155 female candidates.

The number of candidates aged between 25 and 35 years reached 88, and those aged between 35 and 45 years reached 200, between 55 and 65 years reached 259 candidates, and between 65 and 75 years old the number of candidates reached 148.

The highest percentage was recorded among the age group between 45 and 55 years, which amounted to 319 candidates. The age group of 75 years and above registered 29 candidates

The youngest candidates, mainly under 35 years of age, were distributed among the constituencies as follow:

One candidate in Bcharre, Bint Jbeil, Marjeyoun, and Hasbaya

Two candidates in each of Nabatiyeh, Batroun, Dennieh, Beirut First constituency, Jbeil, and Kesrouan

Three candidates in each of Zgharta, Saida, and Tyre

As for the western Bekaa, Rashaya and Jezzine, there are four candidates in each constituency.

In the districts of Baalbek-Hermel, Aley and Chouf, the number of youngest candidates reached 5 in each district, while there are 6 candidates in each of Zahle, Metn, and Baabda

As for Tripoli and the second Beirut constituency, there are eight candidates for each of the two districts.

While the Akkar constituency recorded the highest percentage of the younger candidates, which amounted to 10 candidates.

As for the districts of Al-Zahrani and Al-Minnieh, they did not witness any candidates from for this age group.

So, in sum, the youngest age group occupies the second place after those over 75 years old.

We hope that the upcoming elections will register a larger number of young candidates aspiring for change.
