India Reports Lowest Daily Rise in a Month With 186,364 New Cases

The global coronavirus tally has reached 168 million, while the death toll from the virus has surpassed 3.5 million, according to Johns Hopkins University, which tracks data on the pandemic.

The US retains first place on the list of the worst-hit nations, confirming over 33.2 million cases of COVID-19 and a death toll of 593,000.

It is followed by India, which has been suffering from a major lack of medical equipment, recording around 27.3 million cases and over 315,000 fatalities. Brazil rounds out the top three, with more than 16.3 million cases and the second-highest death toll in the world of around 456,000.
