After an Israeli girl infiltrated Syria, the Israeli army announces the results of the investigation

An Israeli army spokesman said that a military investigation into how an Israeli woman infiltrated to Syria earlier this month had absolved soldiers of any wrongdoing, The Times of Israel newspaper reported.

The 25-year-old Israeli woman sneaked into Syria across the border at the foothills of Mount Hermon, an area where security measures are relatively few, and the barbed fence can be bypassed, according to the same newspaper.

According to the military investigation conducted by the IDF Northern Command, the woman arrived at the village of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights near the Syrian border on February first.

It is clear that the young Israeli woman knew the area in which she planned to cross into Syria, especially since she had tried to cross the border several times before.

The military investigation stated that the soldier, who works on security cameras in the area, looked for signs of cross-border infiltration, but the systems were focusing on the infiltration of people into Israel instead of leaving it, that is why the escape of the Israeli woman was not revealed.
