Ahmadinejad: They might kill me and walk in my funeral.

After his public criticism of the Iranian leader, Ali Khamenei, remaining in power since 1989, and accusing the Iranian government of contributing to street tension through its failed policies, it seems that former Iranian President Ahmadi Nejad has begun to fear for his life, amid fears of an assassination attempt that may affect him in the coming days, according to what he hinted in a video clip reported by Iranian media during his meeting with his supporters.

In the video clip, Ahmadinejad confirmed yesterday: “The discussion about assassination is a serious and dangerous issue.” He added, “Yes, they could assassinate me, then go to my funeral, hold funerals, and accuse others of assassinating me.” But at the same time, he indicated that the files on the threats and prosecutions that take place against him are located in places that the system may not reach, indicating that “all the records and information related to the plot to assassinate him were placed in several safe places.

“Unless Ahmadinejad reveals who are planning to assassinate him, and what are the reasons that may lead them to do so;  some linked these statements to his return to the front again, and explained that they come in the context of a campaign to promote him in the upcoming Iranian elections, and the fiery talks he made recently are but an attempt to draw attention to him again, as he is expected to run for the scheduled presidential elections, next June.

Analysts referred to his harsh criticism of Hassan Rouhani’s government, in which he referred to the congestion of the street, and denounced accusing Iranians angered by the government’s performance of being “enemies of the revolution.”

This is not the first time that Ahmadinejad has accused the government of pursuing and spying on him. Last week, his website accused the Ministry of Intelligence, led by Mahmoud Alawi, of spying by installing an advanced camera on the roof of a school overlooking his home
