The Kuwaiti Constitutional Court rejected the appeals filed to nullify the 2020 National Assembly elections. It also decided to postpone the pronouncement of the verdict on the appeal lodged in the election of the Speaker of Parliament, to the third of March.

The court had reserved the appeals submitted in the first and fourth chambers of the invalidity of the 2020 National Assembly elections in their entirety, and the third circuit related to the invalidity of the election of the Speaker of the Council, to be pronounced in the session that was scheduled for today, Wednesday

It is noteworthy that Marzouq Al-Ghanim (52 years) won the last elections, for the third time, presiding over the National Assembly after a strong competition with MP Badr Al-Hamidi, by winning 33 votes against 28 for the other.

On the fifth of last December, Kuwait witnessed parliamentary elections, the first election race during the reign of the Emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who assumed the reins of power, on September 29.

Since its establishment, the Constitutional Court has been competent to adjudicate in the appeals related to the National Assembly elections, in accordance with the text of Article 1 of Law No. 14 of 1973
