Mawlawi: Any party’s annoyance of Wefaq’s members deportation, does not prevent laws’ implementation

Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi confirmed that, Any party’s annoyance of Wefaq’s members deportation, does not prevent laws’ implementation, ” adding that “we asked for a list of participants in the Bahraini Al-Wefaq conference because Lebanon is convinced of its solid relations with Arab countries.”
Mawlawi has earlier sent a letter to the General Directorate of Public Security calling for “taking all measures leading to the deportation of non-Lebanese members of the Bahraini Al-Wefaq Society out of the country, according to the Lebanese News Agency.”
On the same day, Mawlawi received a call from the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Lieutenant-General Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, where joint security files were discussed, especially what is related to the press conference held in Beirut, by Al-Wefaq Society, last Saturday.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs had expressed its “regret that the Lebanese capital, Beirut, hosted a press conference by hostile members, for the purpose of broadcasting and promoting abusive and malicious allegations against the Kingdom of Bahrain.”
The statement stated that Prime Minister Najib Mikati referred urgently the official protest letter by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the competent authorities, requesting an immediate investigation into what happened, preventing its recurrence, and taking appropriate measures.”
