The medical world celebrated the centenary of the first use of insulin injection at the University of Toronto, Canada, to treat diabetes patients.
Before the discovery of insulin, the only treatment for diabetes patients was adhering to a diet, but the majority of those diagnosed with this disease did not live long, as it is estimated that diabetes claimed millions of lives before the discovery of insulin.
