A 14-year-old girl won a $50,000 prize after winning the first US spelling competition.
Harry Logan won first place after a tough competition against a twelve-year-old boy, and both of them had to spell the largest number of complex words in just ninety seconds, so Logan was able to spell twenty-one words against fifteen for her competitor.
