Colorful murals spread joy in Baghdad streets.

Iraqi artist and professor at the College of Fine Arts Wejdan Al-Majed, puts the final touches on a mural in Baghdad depicting a well-known Iraqi poet, noting that her works aim to beautify the capital and increase people’s knowledge of the personalities that characterized Iraqi society.
The murals, painted in bright colors and cheerful warmth in the city streets, include portraits of painters and poets.
Wejdan said that some of the figures on the murals were not known to the general public, explaining that her paintings arouse curiosity.
She explained that she had already completed about 15 murals in Baghdad within the framework of Baghdad Mayor’s initiative, to beautify the city, noting that the drawing of each of them takes about four days to complete.
