Deir Ammar plant out of work

Great economic chaos translated into a significant rise in the exchange rate of the dollar, which will continue to rise in the coming days with the decline of the central intervention in the market, and with it the rise in the prices of food commodities without any control or accountability, leading to the prices of fuels, which will witness a significant rise tomorrow with the rise in the global oil price and the exchange rate dollar locally.

Electrically, Deir Ammar plant was completely out of service, due to the fuel running out.

The legal expert in energy affairs, Christina Abi Haidar, confirmed to Sawt Beirut International that the problem lies in our reliance on one source of energy, i.e. from Iraq, while the biggest problem will appear at the end of September when the agreement with Iraq ends, which awaits us to settle the dues of this deferred contract.

Commenting on the controversy between the Minister of Energy and Mikati, Abi Haidar confirmed that the dispute is a dispute of interests and not in the interest of the public. The solution was to conduct a transparent tender through the Tenders Department to obtain the best price for building factories instead of surrender, and she was warned of a hot and catastrophic summer if things were not remedied.
