With the increase in the price of wheat globally, and the issuance of a new fuel schedule, the price of a small bundle of bread was raised by 2000 pounds, i.e. from seven thousand to nine thousand Lebanese pounds, and medium-sized also 2000 pounds, i.e. from 13 to 15 thousand Lebanese pounds.

The Minister of Economy indicated that the decision to raise the price of a loaf of bread coincided with the rapid rise in the dollar exchange rate and according to a careful study of the cost of the components of the loaf.

There is a willingness to issue a schedule according to the changes in the exchange rate of the dollar, which continues to fly, as it ranged this Friday morning between 37,500 Lebanese pounds for purchase and 37,400 pounds for sale, which formed a precedent that did not occur during the crisis period, but it returned and fell a little while ago to touch the 32,000 Lebanese pounds.
