A town near the Peruvian capital, Lima, has organized an eco-car race.

Twenty hand-made cars from recycled materials and plastic bottles participated in the race, and their shapes were inspired by the characters of famous films and cartoons.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winners, as the organizers said that the aim was to encourage the population to preserve the environment.
