Electrical wires turns into colorful plates

Sitting on the sidewalk in front of her shop, 50-year-old Hanan weaves traditional, colorful trays using electrical wires.

Historically, these dishes were woven from wheat straw and used to serve daily food and as decorations on happy occasions such as weddings.

Due to the lack of wheat straw throughout the year, Hanan decided to replace it with discarded electricity wires to kill two birds with one stone. The first is that she can weave these dishes throughout the year, and the second is to preserve the environment by using these wires for useful things.

Hanan also opened a shop in the old city of Salt a year and a half ago, selling trays and also using her shop to teach other women the craft.
