Electricity bills… Will the waste and corruption stop?

The EDL seeks to improve its ability to produce electricity. With the cover of the Ministry of Energy, it decided to raise the tariff to be able to cover the fuel expenses, and thus the Ministry has reversed the logic that says that the customer pays the price of the good or service after receiving it.

However, the question that arises is whether the Lebanese citizen trusts the state and the Electricité du Liban, and how can he be sure that his wish will be fulfilled and feeding hours will be increased.

The first of January is a date for a new surprise that the Lebanese citizen is waiting for, a new electricity bill and new numbers. How will future bills be calculated?

A new plan to be implemented by the Ministry of Energy, will it secure the electric current supply for 8-10 hours per day, as is rumored?

Many, including the Minister of Energy, consider that raising tariffs is the ideal solution for the electricity sector, accompanied by improving collection and stopping waste on the network. But if this plan fails, what will happen?

In the end, the EDL, before the crisis and the collapse of the exchange rate of the lira, was living in a spiral of chaos, waste, and ambiguity of the path of imports and expenditures. Today, after the current collapse, who guarantees that this path will stop?
