From thug to ally… Bassil allies with Amal Movement “in retail”.

The election date approached, and with it, attitudes changed. Adversaries have become allies, and allies have become adversaries. As for those who are at the fore in the electoral scene, it is the approach to an alliance between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Amal Movement, “in retail”
These two parties have a black record against each other. Who does not remember when the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, described Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, as a thug? Who can forget Berri’s obstruction of many of Bassil’s proposals in Parliament? And other political rivalries between the ministries of finance and energy
But all these fierce battles melted infront of the electoral interests
As for the voices “votes’ of the Amal movement that was pouring into the Socialist ballots, to whom would it be nominated after President Nabih Berri announced that the Amal movement would not give a single vote to any list, in which the Lebanese Forces are present, after the events of Tayouneh and after the stances of its leader Samir Geagea towards the Shiite duo
So it is clear that the closer we get to the presidential elections, the more the Free Patriotic Movement gets closer to its opponents in the same political line, in order to reserve the presidential seat in the name of its president, Gebran Bassil.
