Fuel prices hit new record, while demonstrations pervade the country

The Land Transport Federations and Unions has demonstrated on Thursday across the country using cars, buses and transport trucks.

Observers expected that the number of participants in this general strike would be larger, but a new tactic was adopted by Land Transport Unions to close many roads across all territories.

While the street was sweltering, the Ministry of Energy and Water raised fuel prices again, breaking new records. The diesel cannister rose surpassing 400,000 LBP, and gasoline touched 390,000 LBP, in record numbers that will be reflected in all sectors.

Lebanon, with no doubt, has entered a new different phase that will witness security developments that may lead to cancelling or postponing the upcoming parliamentary elections.
