A group of Gazan women prepare “dates cookies”, cookies carefully stuffed with dates, to be eaten during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
In Beit Lahia in the Gaza Strip, at least 100 families benefit from an initiative that receives support from individuals, groups or charitable organizations, according to the Bint Al Balad Women’s Association, which prepares cookies and distributes them to the needy to bring the joy of Eid to their hearts. A portion of the cookies is distributed to the workers who prepare it.
The initiative was launched in the last two days of the holy month of Ramadan to help the most needy and poor families, and today about 100 kg of Eid cookies were distributed to its members.
