Immigration numbers in Lebanon are horrible

Lebanon has experienced a lot of political tremors and crises since the 18th century, but without any doubt the situation prevailing in the last three years is the most difficult period in its history.

The most severe economic collapse / bankruptcy / complete absence of the structure of the Lebanese state / wide spread of weapons culminated yesterday with the announcement of what is already known by the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah.

The results are expected, but its figures are shocking to everyone, according to what was revealed by the International Information. More than 70 percent of Lebanese citizens who have another nationality left the country after the Beirut Port explosion last year.

In 2018, about 33,000 Lebanese immigrated, and in 2019 the number rose to 66,000, while in 2020, the number decreased due to the Corona pandemic and the lockdown across the world.

From the beginning of 2021 until end of May, more than 100,201 people left Lebanon, and during June, July, August and September, an additional 47,000 people left Lebanon, and the number of people leaving is expected to rise during the remaining months of this year.

The most attractive destinations for the Lebanese are the European countries and America, and few numbers are heading to the Arab countries, as job opportunities are still few.

According to information obtained by Sawt Beirut International, the number of immigrants residing in Lebanon has also increased, especially as they resort to illegal immigration. It is obvious that the number of boats carrying them across the sea to Cyprus and from there to Europe has increased.
