The second parliamentary dedicated to electing members of the basic parliamentary committees that would serve as a kitchen for legislation and laws that might save the country from its successive crises, has ended. The entitlement has gone through some confusion and tension, but the great shock was manifested at the level of the Administration and Justice Committee, which is one of the most important committees at the current stage, and has a role in key and sensitive files, foremost of which is the independence of the judiciary and the investigation into the crime of the August 4 bombing that shook Lebanon and the world. Not to mention the inability of any of the changers to break it, the committee included among its members, MPs Ghazi Zuaiter and Ali Hassan Khalil, the defendants in the Beirut port bombing case, and today they will be entrusted with justice in the country! What kind of justice are they talking about?!
The presence of Ali Hassan Khalil and Ghazi Zuaiter in the Administration and Justice Committee, provoked some families of the bombing victims, who were afraid of further delays and procrastination in the already faltering investigation file, describing what happened as a farce!
Anyway, we in Lebanon, are living in wonderland, what is forbidden is allowed and everything is permitted… Perhaps it is ironic that the judiciary becomes in the hands of those who contributed to the elimination of the homeland and the citizen and overthrew the concept of justice and law!
