The Union of Parents Committees in Private Schools called, in a statement, to cancel the intermediate certificate for this year, and to separate the official exams between the secondary certificate and the intermediate certificate. He considered that “the justifications for canceling the intermediate certificate this turbulent and exceptional year are more important than the arguments for maintaining it. The priority is for the exams that are taken in the school and attention to all subjects. Add to that that the health, physical and psychological safety of children is the basis, and pressure should not be increased on them with all the problems they live.” .

The union hoped “to start implementing the new curriculum that the Ministry of Education is working on, and to look at this file with a scientific and constructive eye, away from political rivalries with destructive effects.” The statement called on the caretaker education minister, Abbas al-Halabi, to “issue a quick decision to cancel the intermediate certificate exams and to be satisfied with school grades for this year.”
