At dawn Wednesday, Israel launched new raids south of the Syrian capital, Damascus, targeting batteries belonging to the regime’s air defenses.

The Syrian regime TV had reported that the regime’s air defenses confronted Israeli missiles in the sky of Damascus, and downed a number of them in the vicinity of the capital, pointing to the killing of a regime soldier, wounding 5 and causing material losses.

For its part, the Israeli army announced that missile warning sirens sounded in northern Israel.
Adding that an anti-aircraft missile had been launched from Syrian territory towards Israel, that “the missile exploded in the air and there was no reason to intercept it.
