Lebanon’s neglected infrastructure inundates a street in Beirut with water

At a time when the capital Beirut and its people are suffering from thirst and forced to buy water, as a result of the wrong policies over years followed by corruption and plundering, people of Muhammad Al-Hout Street in Ras Al Nabeh area woke up at 3:30 am to the sound of the explosion of the main water pipe in the area. The exploded pipe caused a large subsidence in the main road, and the water reached the lower parking areas of a building and submerged a number of parked cars.

This incident is only a result of the dilapidated infrastructure in Lebanon, which has reached the point of collapse, in the absence of the Ministry of Public Works, which considered that it is doing its work “in the best way” due to the current economic crisis and its inability to implement maintenance projects and pay their costs.

The reality of the infrastructure in Lebanon is similar to its corrupt rulers, dilapidated, and repressive, and in reality, maintenance is difficult.

As for the crises we witness daily, it seems only the beginning.
