The Ukrainian file will be the focus of a summit of European Union leaders, which will continue today and tomorrow, in order to renew European support for Kiev, and to search for ways to preserve its economy, food security and reconstruction, while discussing the imposition of a new sanctions package against Russia.

On the ground, the Russian forces launched today a violent bombardment with missiles on the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine, which the Ukrainian President visited on Sunday.

Russian forces also continue to advance in a number of cities in eastern Ukraine, where they destroyed a large number of infrastructure and residential homes.
