Russian “war crimes” in Ukraine?

As the first trial linked to Russian “war crimes” begins in Ukraine, a Russian soldier has pleaded guilty to shooting an unarmed Ukrainian civilian in front of a Kyiv court.
In parallel, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that 959 Ukrainian soldiers surrendered this week in the besieged Azovstal industrial complex in the coastal city of Mariupol. The ministry did not give any indication about the fate of these soldiers.
About 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers are still deployed inside Azovstal, at a time when the Kremlin accused Ukraine of “total lack of will” to negotiate with Russia to end the war on Ukrainian territory, since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24.
