Saudi foreign minister has urged Lebanese to accelerate reforms to avoid country’s collapse

In his speech at the Davos Forum in Switzerland, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan stressed the need for the Lebanese to carry out reforms to restore the rule of the state, considering that change and the issue of Hezbollah are in the hands of the Lebanese.

Bin Farhan pointed out that the collapse of the Lebanese state is a serious matter, and reforms should be expedited in order to avoid this, he said: “We are concerned with the return of the political process in Lebanon, and all parties should work on that,” stressing that “Lebanon’s elections may be a positive step, but it is too early to say that.”
