“To vaccinate current government,” says Elias Al-Zoghbi

Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati says that he will extend his hand to all parliamentary blocs and the “changer” and “independent” parliamentarians, without excluding any of them. He will listen to their positions first in the parliamentary consultations, even if they bear the title of “non-binding.”

Mikati proceeds from the issue that the awaited government is a hundred days old, and therefore it is urgent to form it and launch its wheels in the direction of urgent issues and files that the caretaker government is dealing with. It does not mean here that there is no point in having a government. His goal remains to gain the confidence of Parliament.

All that the unnamed blocs will say will be carefully listened to, foremost of which are “Strong Lebanon”, “Strong Republic” and “Democratic Gathering”. Mikati expects in advance that the ceiling of demands will be high. It will put everyone in front of their responsibilities, especially at this time.

And to follow up on this file, political writer Elias Al-Zoghbi joined us.
