The Special Tribunal for Lebanon announced in a circular that the Appeals Chamber will hold a public session on June 16, 2022, to pronounce the sentence in the case of the Prosecutor against Hassan Habib Merhi and Hussein Hassan Oneissi.

It is reported that on August 18, 2020, the First Instance Chamber issued its verdict in the case of Ayyash and others, and unanimously declared that Salim Jamil Ayyash is guilty, and that Marei, Oneissi, and Asad Hassan Sabra are not guilty.

However, the Public Prosecutor appealed this ruling, and accordingly the Appeals Chamber returned and unanimously declared Merhi and Oneissi guilty.
