Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Thursday held a meeting at the Grand Serail with Minister of Energy and Water, Dr. Walid Fayyad, to continue discussions over the electricity sector advancement plan.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Director General of Electricite du Liban (EDL), Kamal Hayek.

On emerging, Minister Fayyad hoped that the Premier will call for a cabinet session at the end of next week to approve the plan “which is essential to improve the electricity situation.”

On the other hand, Premier Mikati received at the Grand Serail U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Dorothy Shea, with whom he discussed the latest political developments on the local and regional scenes.

Mikati then met with Deputy Prime Minister, Saadeh Al-Shami.

Mikati also met respectively with the President of the Economic and Social Council, Charles Arbid, and a delegation of the “Beirut Families Association”, headed by Mohammad Afif Yamout.
