The Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Hector Hajjar, revealed in an interview with Sawt Beirut International that the financing card is suspended pending financing from the World Bank, which stipulated to give money the implementation of the economic advancement plan by the Lebanese government in addition to the electricity plan, explaining that the Ministry of Affairs did what was required of it.

Hajjar said the financial card program targets people who were well off and lost their capabilities due to the collapse of the value of the national currency and the retention of money in banks, noting that this program
It targets approximately 300,000 families.

Hajjar explained that the support network consists of two programs, the Aman program and the financing card program, noting that he launched the program, the platform, and programming for the two programs. This program targets the poorest, and 130,000 families have been visited, noting that the visits will continue until reaching 200,000 families, with 150,000 families benefiting from them.

Hajjar also pointed to a supplementary program prepared by the Ministry of Affairs, which is the program for the poorest, benefiting 30,000 families, noting that it has improved conditions and visits, and that 67,000 families have so far benefited, until we reach 75,000 families in late July.

Hajjar stressed that the Ministry of Social Affairs will continue the projects as long as funds and capabilities are available.

He explained that between 125 and 145 dollars is transferred to the family per month, and payment is made through the Aman program, starting from 1-1 2022 over a period of one year.

Hajjar revealed that the money was to be paid to the beneficiaries in Lebanese pounds in the Aman and the Poorest programs, but I transferred the payment from the Lebanese pound to the dollar in order to preserve, as much as possible, the value of this money due to the high exchange rate of the dollar.

Hajjar affirmed his support for the Lebanese and said, “I know the people’s pain, and I know the reality of the situation that needs an emergency. The World Bank promised, but it did not fulfill the promise. If the Lebanese state does not collect taxes, where will we get the money to finance projects?”

He stressed the need to form a government as soon as possible to approve the recovery plan and budget and research the conditions of people, especially the economic and living conditions, especially since we are at the gates of school registration, pointing to a disaster in the matter of associations that deal with the disabled and people with special needs.
