Progressive Socialist Party Leader Walid Jumblatt, said on his Twitter account that the ongoing random support will topple the country’s remaining dollars.”

He added that only the mafias of pharmaceutical, fuel and various commodity dealers will benefit from these subsidies. Jumblatt called for halting subsidies and replacing it with the ration card for needy families.

Jumblatt pointed out that “resuming these populist judicial campaigns deviates from all principles and resembles the Mahdawi trials of totalitarian regimes.”
