The World Bank has clarified that it didn’t reveal any statement or report saying that it will support the Lebanese army, although rumors has been circulated lately that the World Bank will support the army.

The World Bank reiterated in a statement the most prominent and comprehensive warnings, mainly the “Lebanese Economic Monitor, Lebanon is plunging (among the first three failed states).” It said that the dire social and economic conditions that has not been resolved, is threatening the country and will leave negative impacts and failures.

In a related context, the World Bank stressed that “the economic collapse in Lebanon is putting unprecedented pressures on the operational capabilities of the Lebanese Army.”

The World Bank considered that “the Lebanese army is threatened by the worst global financial collapse since 150 years.”
