A US State Department spokesman called on the Lebanese authorities to expedite the completion of a comprehensive and transparent investigation into Beirut port explosion.

In response to a question by Al-Hurra regarding the suspension of investigative judge, Tariq Bitar, after being threatened by Hezbollah, the spokesman said: As the United States and the international community made clear through the UN Security Council and the International Lebanon Support Group, we urge the Lebanese authorities to expedite the completing a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the causes of the August 4, 2020 Beirut Port explosion.”
