Head of land transport sector’s union, Bassam Tlais, indicated that the union’s demanded the President of the Republic, to approve the integrated public transport plan from outside the cabinet’s agenda.
He continued: “What is required is either approving the transport plan that was agreed upon or not approving it. In this case, the state must confirm the importance of the plan and assign the Ministry of Works to set a tariff based on exchange rate.”
He asked: “Is it required to adopt a daily transportation tariff schedule?”
He added: “There is a delay in approving the integrated transport plan that serves the citizens and the employees. Tomorrow we have a press conference, and I hope all officials and stakeholders come up with a solution.”
