“Sawt Beirut International” news bulletin for April 13, 2022

Why are they refusing justice?

The dollar is on the rise again, exceeding the ceiling of 25 thousand pounds. This is not normal news, especially amid a lack of a financial vision and an economic plan, to confront the crisis. If the dollar continues its upward pace, this means that we will reach May 15 with a green currency touching the ceiling of thirty thousand pounds. The most dangerous thing is that, while the rise is entrenched and confirmed, people are preoccupied with another matter: parliamentary elections, at a time economic and financial reforms, are at a standstill. It is true that the government is striving hard to save what can be saved, but how can a government that has proven its failure more than once and in serious cases, claims today that it is able to save? What proves that the government is not part of the solution to the current situation, is the Minister of Finance’ stance regarding signing the partial judicial formations decree. It is known that these formations, if to occur, would lead to the formation of the general body entrusted with examining the cases of response, and the cases of litigating the state, and these cases could lead the judicial investigator,Judge Tariq Bitar, to re- consider the crime of the Beirut port bombing. But it is clear that his system, headed by the Amal movement, does not want Bitar to return to his work, and does not want us to reach the truth or justice. “Therefore, Lebanese, your country needs you, and the electoral duty is calling you. Participated extensively in the elections, as “your votes are our legitimate weapon so that we can extract them and prevail.”
