Is it possible that we live in two different countries?

It is the exemplar of perplexity and chaos. Each judgment corresponds to a decision, and each position contradicts another. Until we became perplexed, as if we were in front of one country or two? Last week, the world stood firm and did not back down from decisions made by Ghada Aoun, the Head of the Public Prosecution Office of Mount Lebanon, which prohibited the transfer of funds from a number of banks outside Lebanon.

Today, the Discriminatory Public Prosecutor Office intervened in the case and decided to overturn Ghada Aoun’s decision. Who will pay to make up for the banks’ losses? Who will compensate the Lebanese depositors who have suffered as a result of Aoun’s decisions? And, most importantly, who will restore the Lebanese banking sector’s trust, which was lost both locally and internationally?

As it is in both the judiciary and Parliament. The joint committees did not approve the Capital Control Law today after it became clear that it was a bastardized law that did not find anyone to adopt it except for Nicolas Nahas, a deputy in the Mikati bloc.

Are we living in a time when we have the luxury of submitting lewd legislation to the Parliament? Doesn’t the ruling system recognize that the situation compels it to seriously consider approving the Capital Control Law? What can the system benefit from now if the previous thirty months did not restore it to its senses or conscience?
