Will salvation be achieved on May 15?

In Lebanon, everything is possible, according to Al-Rahbani’s song “in this country everything happens”, yet there are political “plays” that sometimes get you to ask a lot of questions, including what happened in the parliament today.

Prime Minister Najib Mikati, saddened by all political performance in the country, and particularly the capital control draft law that was rejected by the joint committees. He demanded that the parliamentary session be transformed from a legislative to a plenary one where confidence in the Government would be raised, but President Nabih Berri responded: “it is not the right time”.

Berri and Mikati’s “scene” is a sarcastic one because the latter knows very well that the session cannot be easily shifted, therefore his position is part of a populist speech.

As for Berri, he considers the discussion and the confidence sessions useless for the time being.

When will Berri consider it imperative that the parliament questions the government soon? Or does he consider that there is nothing to hold the government accountable for its performance?

Lebanese people are convinced about only one thing, Mikati and the pillars of system “are burying al cheikh zenki together”.
