Riad Salameh summoned for investigation as a defendant

It is expected that the period after the Eid al-Adha holiday will witness important judicial developments that do not stop at the investigations conducted by the judicial investigator into the file of the Beirut Port explosion, Judge Tariq Bitar, and the anticipation of decisions related to the lifting of parliamentary immunities, but rather related to the financial file and transfers abroad, the most prominent of which is the summoning of the Governor of the Banque du Liban, Riad Salameh as a defendant.

This decision came as a surprise to those who followed the judicial files, as judicial sources confirmed to “Sawt Beirut International,” that the discriminatory Public Prosecution “has assigned the Central Criminal Investigation Department to inform Riad Salameh of the necessity of appearing before the discriminatory attorney general, Judge Jean Tannous, early next August.”

The judicial sources do not hide that the accusation against the governor of the Banque du Liban and the others intersects with other investigations conducted by three European countries, which had previously taken a decision to freeze the accounts of Salameh and his brother and his assistance, and based on internal and external data and information that called for these measures.
