Law No. 8 issued on 3/11/2021 amending some articles of Electoral Law No. 44 dated 17/6/2017 regarding the election of members of the Parliament was issued in the Supplement to No. 43 of the Official Gazette.

The amendment of the law was not accompanied by the signature of the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, who had previously returned it to the House of Representatives, requesting that it be reconsidered due to the constitutional and legal violations in it that were included in detail in the book that President Aoun sent to the Parliament two weeks ago.

The law was considered legally effective and must be published based on Article 57 of the Constitution, after it was not issued by the President of the Republic because the Parliament did not consider notes on violations made by President Aoun and asked at the time to reconsider it.
