Lawyer Sakher al-Hashim requested that the investigation file in the port explosion case be transferred to another judge, along with Tarek Bitar, in conformity with the laws, to reevaluate procedural issues, including the requests for “release of detainees”, which had been pending for months.

This request sent by Hashim to the Court of Cassation relied on the fact that there is “obstruction of justice.”

The request is not to accuse Judge Al-Bitar, but because the proceedings against him are causing damages to the detainees, so it is necessary to have “another judicial investigator at his side to decide, at least, on the release of those arrested who are affected by the continuing interruption of the investigation.” Sources said.
