President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, stressed the importance of the existing cooperation between Lebanon and the World Bank, and the projects that have been achieved during the past years and those that are in the process of implementation, pointing to Lebanon’s commitment to carrying out the necessary reforms to complete negotiations with the International Monetary Fund within the framework of the economic recovery plan.

President Aoun’s words came during his reception at Baabda Palace, the new Director of the World Bank Group in the Mashreq Department, which includes Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon in the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Jean-Christophe Carret, and the former Regional Director, Mr. Saroj Kumarjah Saroj KumarJah, and Ms. Mouna Couzi, Operations Officer in the World Bank office, on the occasion of the end of Mr. Kumar Jah’s mission and his transfer to another position in the World Bank and the appointment of Mr. Kareh as his successor.
