According to Reuters, an Arab League delegation will visit Beirut on Monday to resolve Lebanon’s conflict with a number of Gulf countries, which erupted following statements by the Lebanese Minister of Information criticizing the Saudi-led military involvement in Yemen.
According to the source, the delegation will be headed by Hossam Zaki, the Arab League’s Deputy Secretary-General.
Earlier, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan stated that with Hezbollah’s prolonged domination of the political climate, and what we regard as this government’s and Lebanese political leaders’ continued abstention from adopting the required reforms and steps to push Lebanon towards change, we concluded that communication with Lebanon is no longer constructive or useful,” he added, emphasizing that “the issue is greater than the statements of a minister.”
