Armed Forces Commander, General Joseph Aoun, visited the command of commando regiment in Roumieh, he addressed the soldiers by saying: “thanks to your efforts and sacrifices, you are protecting independence. Our country is going through dire and complicated circumstances, but you are dealing with it professionally, courageously, discipline and wisely, and thereby save the country from sedition. Our homeland is in our hands and we will protect it with our lives, and when I stand before men like you, I realize that there is no fear for Lebanon, for you are the backbone of this country. You have no choice but the military establishment, despite all the challenges you are experiencing, because you are trained in harsh confrontations and difficult and stressful conditions. I have full confidence that you will pass this stage, and know that the Lebanese people trust you and are proud of your performance, and the international community praises your achievements.”
After meeting with officers and soldiers, General Aoun said, “We strive to alleviate the economic burdens that are pressing on you, and to provide basic services that preserve your dignity and the dignity of your families, most notably medicine and transportation. We must overcome this crisis with determination, persistance, will and faith in our homeland, which needs us today more than ever.”
