Businessman Bahaa Al-Hariri tweeted, via his Twitter account, saying: “With deep sadness and sorrow, we received the news of the death of the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”
He added: “My sincere condolences and sympathy to Al Nahyan family and the UAE, which has always stood by Lebanon and its people in their most difficult ordeal.”

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, passed away today, Friday, at the age of 73.
Following the death, the government announced a period of mourning for forty days, starting from Friday, and flags at half-mast, in addition to disrupting work “in ministries, departments, federal and local institutions, and the private sector for 3 days.”
