“Beirut II voting participation was unexpected,” says minister of Interior Mawlawi

Bassam Mawlawi, Minister of Interior and Municipalities, said that he is open to any suggestions. “Beirut will triumph,” he declared during his inspection of one of the voting stations, “and the Lebanese have reacted to their country’s call to contribute to creating tomorrow’s Lebanon, and one problem arose in Al-Bireh in Akkar and it is being solved.”

“We were aware that Beirut requires two boxes, and all of the required boxes will be secured,” he continued, “and for all Lebanese and Beirut residents, I say, “I am your representative in these elections today.”

“The sorting will take place at night in the Adliyat at the judges, amid security reinforcements, and I will be in all offices, and the results will come as quickly as possible” he added.

According to Mawlawi, “the number of voters in Beirut II was unexpected, indicating that Beirut citizens are loyal to Lebanon and not to individual persons, and at 7 o’clock the doors are locked and all those who were inside vote.”
