House Speaker Nabih Berri cabled today French President Emmanuel Macron congratulating him on his election as President of the French Republic for a new presidential term, “to lead France towards further progress and prosperity and to preserve the republic’s values ​​of freedom, equality and fraternity.”

Berri added: “I also take this opportunity to renew our commitment to work together to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Lebanese and French peoples and to develop forms of cooperation in various fields, particularly at the parliamentary level, to serve the historical and common interests of the two friendly countries, Lebanon and France.”
