The exchange rate of the dollar on the black market today, Sunday, ranged between 63,900 pounds for purchase and 64,100 pounds for sale.

While the economist, Dr. Adeeb Tohme, confirmed in an interview via “Sawt Beirut International” that the Banque du Liban secures the “reserve” on a daily basis, and this leads to an insane rise in the rate of the dollar against the lira, and thus the collapse of the lira, indicating that the measures in place are not sufficient, or rather useless, and what is required is to restore confidence in the “state” again by completely changing the ruling class.

He also added that there are no limits to the ceiling of the dollar, and the issue of one hundred thousand pounds has become inevitable in light of these arbitrary policies. There are no solutions, no economy, and no existing reserves that justify the appreciation of the pound against the dollar, and what is required is the production of a new “package” of power from the President of the Republic, through the Parliament, to the Council of Ministers, otherwise we are heading to more economic, social and political confusion.
