Black market dollar continues to climb and fall on a regular basis, registers LBP 28,100

The black market dollar continues to climb and fall on a regular basis.

It was consistent this morning, Friday, compared to yesterday, with a range of 28,100 Lebanese pounds for purchase and LBP 28,000 for sale.

“The Central Bank of Lebanon says that it stands with charities and their reasonable claims,” the Central Bank of Lebanon said in a statement. It has earlier committed to provide 40% of charity dues transferred in cash for the fiscal year 2021.

The trading volume on the “Sayrafa” platform for Thursday amounted to /122,000,000/$ one hundred and twenty-two million US dollars, at a rate of 24,400 Lebanese pounds per dollar, according to the exchange rates of operations carried out by banks and exchange institutions on the platform.

On May 27, Fitch Ratings said that Lebanon’s exit from the debt default situation is still difficult after the inconclusive elections.
