Gas Station Owners’ Syndicate member, Dr. George Al-Brax, on Wednesday said that the Lebanese customs had asked of importing companies to stop delivering fuel “so that they could empty their warehouses.”
“A new price grid will be issued today by the General Directorate of Oil, and a new phase of lifting subsidies at an exchange rate exceeding LBP 12,000 will be adopted. Gas stations are closed today because oil companies did not deliver fuel to them,” Al-Brax added.
However, he regretted that this decision was not postponed until next week so that companies could pump sufficient quantities of fuel oil into the markets to help ease the citizens’ burden to obtain gasoline.
